Congratulations to Joaquin Perez as he takes the top spot in the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for TX-28! His winning app, “Choose Your Trivia,” stood out in this nationwide competition where students design and build their own apps for mobile, tablet, or computer.

The Congressional App Challenge isn’t just about coding—it’s about creativity, innovation, and the future of tech. And GECHS students? They’re proving they’ve got what it takes AGAIN. This isn’t their first win at GECHS… and at this rate, it won’t be their last.

GECHS was honored to host a special presentation by alumnus Ken Yaguchi, our first Phoenix Distinguished Luminary.

Currently attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Ken continues to pursue his passion for learning at one of the most prestigious institutions in the world. During his visit, he shared his journey from GECHS to MIT, offering valuable insight into the college admissions process, his experience with the SAT, and what it takes to succeed at a highly competitive university.

This was an inspiring and meaningful opportunity for our students as they prepare for their own futures. #PhoenixPride

The Laredo Independent School District Parent and Family Engagement Department invites all parents and families to attend the upcoming Parent Academy of Learning Session: “Parent Life Skills Session: The Lighthouse of My Hallway" that will be held this Friday, March 20.

During the Teaching and Training Program of Study panel, they answered questions from LISD middle school students and shared insights about the path to becoming future educators.
