At GECHS, we believe in the power of giving back to the community, and this commitment extends beyond our students to include our staff members. Recently, two of our staff members were recognized for volunteering at CASA Voz de Niños, an organization that provides support and care for foster children in need.
This act of service is a reflection of our school’s core values, where volunteerism is a chance to instill a sense of responsibility, compassion, and community within everyone at GECHS. #PhoenixPride

Hello LISD Parents and Families,
As the holiday season approaches, we want to remind you how crucial school attendance is to your child’s academic success. Understandably, this time of year can be busy, but we want to urge you to remember how missed school days around the holidays can impact your child’s progress from kindergarten through high school.
We know that family time is precious and essential, but it’s important to remember that extended vacations can the send the wrong message about the importance of regular attendance.
So, please ensure your child is present until the winter break begins and returns to school on the scheduled dates. We greatly appreciate your support in this matter.
Happy Holidays!
Congratulations to Garcia Early College High School junior Sofia Madrigal for being named LISD December Student of the Month. To read about LISD's other December Student of the Month recipients please click on the SOTM banner on LISD's website.

The Moments of Relaxation event offered students a much-needed opportunity to unwind after the stress of the semester and final exams. Attendees learned effective breathing techniques and muscle relaxation exercises to help manage stress. Adding to the calming atmosphere was Pearl, a 6-year-old yellow Labrador from the U.S. Border Patrol's Support Canine Program. Trained as both a guide and support dog, Pearl provided emotional comfort through hugs and interactions, bringing joy to students.
