The safety of our students and staff remains the highest priority at Laredo ISD. After assessing current weather conditions, Laredo ISD will be delaying the start of classes on Thursday, September 25, 2025, due to possible thunderstorms and flooding. Laredo ISD elementary schools will begin their classes at 9:45 a.m., while middle school students will start the day at 10:00 a.m. LISD high schools will start their day at 10:15 a.m. All Laredo ISD administrative offices and departments will be open on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Central office staff is expected to be at work at 9:30 a.m. Classes will resume on Monday, September 29, 2025, as regularly scheduled. Be assured that Laredo ISD will continue monitoring weather conditions and notify the public of any other changes in our schedule via the District’s social media and website at www.laredoisd.org.

GECHS held a Chalk It Out Event in honor of Suicide Prevention Month. A special thanks to Communities In Schools of Laredo, SCAN, and Dusty, the LPD Emotional Support Dog for joining us in creating awareness and spreading hope.

Teachers at GECHS celebrated 16 de Septiembre with a potluck. It was wonderful to have everyone come together to enjoy delicious food and great company. A huge thanks to Ms. C. Hernandez for organizing this event.
