Members of the LISD Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council from Martin, Nixon, Cigarroa and Garcia Early College, along with LISD Superintendent Guillermo Prom and LISD Cabinet members attended the Mayor’s State of the City presentation at the Sames Auto Arena. Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino personally invited these students because he wanted our community’s future leaders to be in the audience.

Congratulations to Garcia Early College High School's Jesus Prado for being named LISD January Student of the Month. The LISD Student of the Month is sponsored by Laredo Federal Credit Union, Chick-Fil-A Marketplace on Bob Bullock, and Laredo Orthodontics.

The Laredo Independent School District is hosting its sixth annual Scholars Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.


Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will benefit scholarships for deserving graduating seniors from the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, Raymond and Tirza Martin High School, J.W. Nixon High School, and Dr. Leonides Cigarroa High School
