LISD is diving into reading! Help us celebrate National Library Week!


The LISD Federal Programs Department will host its 3rd Annual Parent Meeting Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Martin High School from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This opportunity will provide parents with high impact instructional strategies and accountability updates that will benefit our students.
Community agencies from Laredo Regional Food Bank and Catholic Charities of Laredo will be on hand to discuss the different programs available, along with pre qualifications. *See flyer for more information.*



Congratulations to the GECHS Robotics Team FTC 12347 Cephalobots and their sponsor Mr. De Guzman, who showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork at the FTC State UIL 5A Robotics Championship held on March 21-23, 2024, at the Cadence Bank Center in Belton, Texas. Their dedication and hard work paid off as they clinched the Semi-Finalist Award with a Bronze Medal and secured the 2nd place Team Spirit Award. Amongst tough competition, they ranked 12 in their Division of 36 teams. #PhoenixPride.


LISD will have early release on Thursday, March 28, at 2:15 and will not have classes on Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, in observance of Easter. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
TAMIU will not have classes on Friday, March 29, 2024 but will have classes on Monday, April 1, for grades 10, 11, 12. Please see Transportation Schedule.

Discover TAMIU is a university-wide Open House offering students of all ages, their families, and community members the opportunity to experience Texas A&M International University. This event is packed with hands-on activities, student performances, and informative sessions.

Do you know Gabriela Gaona?
GECHS Campus Spotlight: Ms. Gaona is a Chemistry and Drivers Ed teacher at Garcia Early College. She is a graduate of Martin High School and earned a Bachelors in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics degree from Texas A&M International University. Ms. Gaona has been an educator for the past 5 years at Garcia Early College High-School. She works collaboratively as one of the UlL Coordinators and co-sponsors of the National Honor Society and 2024 Senior Class, displaying her relentless commitment and dedication on helping our students achieve their goals. Ms. Gaona says, “I’m so very thankful & blessed to be doing what I love every day. The fact that I get to give back to my community & hopefully make a small difference is the best.” #PhoenixPride #GECHSTeacheroftheYear


Three students from GECHS, namely Diego Dosal, Kaylie Elizondo, and Violette Garcia, recently delivered a presentation titled "Unlock your Full Potential: A Step-by-Step Guide from Ideas to Execution" at the 8th Annual Student by Student Technology & Leadership Conference (SbySTech) held in Edinburg, Texas. Their presentation was based on their Coding.Org App Project. Apart from this, the students also participated in a STEM CHALLENGE where they designed an Alarm Circuit. They also attended a College & Career Connection event where they interacted with different University Recruiters. The students enjoyed it & It was a great experience! #PhoenixPride #STEM
